The Virginia APCO Awards Commission is pleased to announce that submissions are being accepted for the 2015 Public Safety Telecommunicator Awards until March 4, 2016. Please accept the time to submit nomination forms for your hardworking telecommunicators who dedicate themselves to assisting the citizens of their jurisdiction and our public safety partners.
The Virginia Chapter of APCO is pleased to recognize the outstanding achievements of public condom telecommunicators within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Awards for 2015 will be announced and awarded at the 2016 NENA/APCO Spring Briefing (May 4-six, 2016) in Virginia Embankment. Awards are in the categories of Outstanding Individual Performance in a Disquisitional Incident, Outstanding Team Performance in a Critical Incident, Telecommunicator of the Year, Trainer of the Year, Line Supervisor of the Year, Information Technologist or Radio Frequency Technologist of the Year, and Communications Center Managing director of the Year. Nominations must be received no later than Friday, March 4, 2016.

Souder Honored With Lifetime Accomplishment Award

Bramley Lifetime Accomplishment Award at the 2015 Virginia Public Safety Communications Conference and Exposition in Roanoke on Wednesday, October 28. Steve has over xx years of experience in emergency communications and has represented the E-911 industry and public safe more broadly on countless professional person committees, national task forces, congressional and FCC hearings. His commanding presence, passion for the chore and eloquent style of speaking has inspired an entire generation of E9-1-1 professionals in Virginia and across. A life member of APCO International, Steve chaired APCO Project RETAINS, a project started in 2001. The Virginia Affiliate of APCO established the Melinda Fifty. Melinda has been a fellow member of APCO (Clan of Public Safety Communications Officials Inc.) since 1982, and served on the Executive Board from 1984 to 2010. A Chapter life member, she honorably served as Virginia APCO'south President, Secretary, and Treasurer.

Carol Adams (Stafford County) and Richard Troshak (Chesterfield Canton) were awarded Virginia Chapter Life Membership at the Affiliate's coming together held in Roanoke on Thursday, Oct 29.
Carol Adams serves as the Virginia Chapter's Treasurer and is Director of the Division of Emergency Communications for Stafford County Sheriff's Department. Rich Troshak completes his second term as Affiliate President this month and is Manager of the Chesterfield County 9-1-ane Communications Center. Nominations Announced

She has been an active member of APCO since 2006, fellow member of the membership committee for two years, currently the Secretarial assistant for the Virginia APCO Chapter board, and helped to develop the APCO Chapter TERT program. In 2013 she received her APCO Establish RPL certification.

Nominee for Managing director at Large: Terry Hall
Terry Hall, is Chief of Emergency Communications for York-Poquoson-Williamsburg Emergency Communications Center. Terry has worked diligently with APCO for over twenty years, getting to know and working with many Chapter members, whether it was on a slice of legislation, serving on a committee, or every bit an Executive Quango member. Terry joined APCO equally a commercial vendor for the first v years of his active twenty year membership. For the past fifteen plus years, he has served in the membership as a public safety professional person. Public Prophylactic Telecommunications Awards Plan

The Virginia Chapter of APCO is pleased to recognize the outstanding achievements of public safety telecommunicators within the Commonwealth of Virginia. Awards for 2014 will be announced and awarded at the 2015 NENA/APCO Spring Conference (April 22-24, 2015) in Virginia Beach. Awards are in the categories of Outstanding Individual Performance in a Critical Incident, Outstanding Team Performance in a Critical Incident, Telecommunicator of the Year, Trainer of the Year, Line Supervisor of the Year, Information Technologist or Radio Frequency Technologist of the Year, and Communications Center Director of the Yr. Nominations must be received no later than Friday, March 6, 2015.
Each year, we receive many outstanding nominations in each category. The program is successful because others took the time to nominate those outstanding telecommunicators.
